As an exclusive for Welcome, Nadia Tschenett (High Fashion Consultant) will present current trends for autumn/winter 2016 / 2017 directly from the international catwalks.
VELVET
Shiny, dainty and lightweight: velvet has a long history, and this fall/winter 2016-2017 it is center-stage on a lot of catwalks. Brands like Prada, Miu Miu and Fendi gave the rich fabric a nice little update. Elegant yet casual, perfect to stand out and get noticed. From the deepest blue to black, this material is the new season investment. If wearing velvet is not really your thing, why not give accessories a chance?
ANIMAL
Designers this season are taking minimalists to task with options that call to the wild side. A classic yet trendy animal print has made its mark on the fall/winter catwalk this season, from fur coats at Prada, to belted jackets at Bottega Veneta. One of the best characteristics of Diana Vreeland’s favorite print is that no matter how avant-garde fashion gets…it will never be “out” of fashion.
MILITARY
Since Yves Saint Laurent introduced the iconic saharienne jacket in the ’60’s, the military suit has been influencing fashion. So also this season military style has taken a stronghold on the runway with tailored coats and jackets as the stand-out pieces, seen on the catwalk at Burberry, Prada and Versace. Most notably, the military jacket has been revamped with added bows, pompoms and oriental prints.
Thanks a lot to Nadia and the magazine Welcome for the good tips.
