Fashion Trends Summer 2018

As an exclusive for Welcome, Nadia Tschenett (High Fashion Consultant) will present current trends for spring/summer 2017 directly from the international catwalks.

THE TRENCH 2.0
Without a doubt – the star of shows was the trench coat! Each designer interpreted this wardrobe basic differently, so there are lots of looks to choose from. At Valentino, layering was extended with large, prominent storm patches. At Loewe, we saw this IT Piece combined with another huge fashion trend – a long fringe. You probably own one already, but if you don’t, now it’s the perfect time.

LAVENDER
Every time the Spring/Summer shows come around, a new pastel colour takes over and this year is no different. If you want to be on trend in 2018 then it’s all about lavender. Designers embrace lavender for everything from tailoring at Victoria Beckham and Max Mara to beautiful floral party dresses at Erdem. Millennial pink has had its day – we’re heading into the violet hour.

DARK DENIM
Believe it or not, polished dark denim jeans are back! The embellished and ripped jeans of the last decade make way for a more sophisticated and polished look. Fendi, Max Mara and Calvin Klein
rocked this look on the runway and I never thought I would see the return of matching denim ensembles. Then again, I didn’t expect it to look this good the second time around.
